The local soil and the Mediterranean climate is especially suited to create a characteristic, full-bodied red wines. Villány’s red wines not only represent the region, but the wine-making of the whole country. The wines are not identical because their breed and the inclines they are growing on are different and, of course, the vineyards have different styles and approaches. Villány also special because besides different markers, the similarities can also be seen.
The Villány red wines indicate the producing region’s Mediterranean nature, while also representing the variety, the character and the wine maker’s ideology. Therefore, many kinds of red variety and Cuvée wines are produced.
